Hey all, just picked up my first F150. She'll be a winter beater for my '96 Cobra. It's a '78 F150 Ranger Shortbed 4x4 with the 460/C6. 4" suspension lift and 35's are the only real mods (except for fresh krylon 1613!). I was curious as to the kind of hp/tq these old big blocks put out?
Its not original, it may be a 78, and from a ford truck, but the half ton shortboxes did not come with them. Someone swapped it in probably using mostly stock parts so it probably appears to be stock.
I'm sure this forum is more knowledgeable than the previous owner, but he told me "less than 1% of shortbeds had the 460" lol. Thanks for the info guys!!
Well................. 0 is defintely less than 1%. I could be wrong but I have never seen or heard of them coming that way and I have owned 4 shortbeds with 460's but I had to put all the 460's in there myself. I currently still have one.....
