I am needing help to exactly identify my axle. First off it came from a 1986 Ford E 150 Conversion Van. I know it is a 9 inch, but wondering the other info such as gearing? Could it be a Dana? Posi?
Here is what the axle tag shows:
I don't know much about Ford parts, but it looks like a 9 inch I have seen in pictures. How can I tell for positive? Will those numbers from the axle tag tell me?

1986 was the last year for the 9 inch, not 1985.
Some 1968, all 1969/86 9" rear axles as installed in F100/150's * were available with Limited Slip (L/S) as an option. Posi or Posi-Traction are a GM terms.
The 8.8" integral rear axle was introduced in 1983. Integral rear axles & Dana axles have an inspection cover. The 9" does not.
Some 1983/86 E100/150's and F100/150's have 8.8's, some have 9 inchers. It depended on the application.
*1959/67 and some 1968 F100's: If L/S was ordered, Ford installed the Dana 44 in these trucks. L/S was not available w/the 9" in F100's until mid-year 1968.
