Is it possible?

So here where I work we were talking about push starting vehicles with a dead battery and a manual transmission. It got me thinking if it was even possible on a 6.0 because you needing to get the glow plugs warm to fire it which you couldnt do with a dead battery. Is it possible or have any of you tried it?

I'm not an expert, but I'd say that it would not work without the glow plugs. I've read where others have push started a smaller diesel car, but I don't think they needed as much compression.

You are going to have to have some electrical source to fire the injectors. The alternator doesn't produce current for quite a bit of time AFTER start up, so I'd say it would be a useless effort. No electricity, no spool valve movement to allow HPO to fire the injector
