H3s have PLASTIC shift forks!!
in the transfer case 
look at what a GM mechanic found here:
The replacement parts are aluminum with teflon coating he said. fork and ring were both plastic. Fork jumped ring and case was stuck in 4WD.
plastic forks and they still couldn't make money???
I hope ford didn't use any of these transfer cases.

May I ask the burning question here? Exactly how many people are really all that astounded by this revelation? Personally, I wouldn't have been surprised to discover that there was NO shift fork AT ALL because (as someone already mentioned) what H3 owner would ever actually USE it?
