I was wondering if u would delete your warranty if u used an aftermarket 5 inch exhaust? Can u delete your cat and DPF without throwing codes? Or do u use a tuner and Aftermarket exhaust without DPF to correct the code? any info is appreciated, cheers
From what I understand in order to delete the cat/dpf you have to use a tuner and the only tuner that supposedly doesn't throw a code is the Spartan. Of course then you have to put it all back together when and if it goes to the Ford dealer for work. Fine if you are at home but a bummer if you are on the road. Don't base anything on my word though, I'm sure there will be many more folks weigh in on this that have a world more experience on this topic.
Thistle is correct. You would need a programmer that is capable of the DPF delete. Spartan is the most popular for the application that I know of.
Warranty is at risk with any mods. Now it would be hard for them to turn your warranty down if you just did a DPF back on it. Emissions stuff at that point is still stock.

I thought you couldn't change anything on the exhaust without voiding the warranty. Isn't there some kind of stamping on the bottom side of the muffler about that? Thought you couldn't even change the tips, as it affects the DPF.
As long as you maintain the same basic design it would be hard for them to deny IMHO. What about the other cars and trucks you have owned that needed new exhaust. did that void your warranty?
