I THINK this measures the position of the EGR valve. Have you checked the EGR to see if it was gunked up and couldn't move properly? Haven't run across this one before and may be totally out of the ball park. I can only think of one other thing. Maybe one of out more knowledgeable tech's will chime in .
I'm not sure if you're having driveability issues or maybe it's unplugged, but it's telling you your EGR isn't working properly. Sounds like a good cleaning might be in order or a good eyeball check anyway. Carb cleaner only--NO BRAKE cleaner as it will fubar the switch.
Ok, I've got to chime in here. I tried the egr bypass where you jam a freeze plug into the up pipe. To say the least, the freeze plug did not work. After a couple days, started the truck and heard a little pop. Took the up pipe back off and found the freeze plug loose in the connection. I had in the process removed the butterfly valve out. I had a code first of "EGR Flow", don't remember the code number. (cleaned the egr valve at this time too)
Replaced the up pipe with out the freeze plug, and put everything back to original. Including butterfly.
No more "EGR Flow" codes, but now have code P1334.
So, yes, some 04's will throw codes, trying to figure out how to get rid of p1334. Have cleared it a couple times, and one time it went away all by its self.
I have since changed my signature from showing EGR bypass.
And no, I don't run a tuner of any sort. Truck runs well.
I'll NOT try cheap mods again.!!

Yes, p1334. Kinda weird isn't it? All back to normal. I'm on a working vacation this week, so wont be able to tackle this until Monday. Truck is running fine though.
Sean did you get this taken care of ? What was the culprit , I’m showing a P1334 DTC , replaced the Egr valve , the code goes to the Potentiometer, better known as the TPS throttle plate sensor $205 later that’s not the problem either , it did give me better throttle response, but when engine warm driving for awhile and I come to a idle , The engine idle is rough , did you experience this rough idle aswell , the code still won’t clear after doing both these repairs.
I am trying to think back to this issue. It did go away, but I can't recall if it cleared itself or if I did something for it. I'll ponder it for a while and let you know.
Well, I can't say what caused this to go away. Sorry. The only thing I have done since this, was put a new EGR valve in. And that was about a year later if I recall. I think it just went away. A lot I expect was the way I tried by-pass the EGR system at the time.
I haven't done much to this truck since I bought it. New FICM, new turbo (I broke a post off one of the vanes while cleaning), new EGR valve, coolant filter, SCT programmer, new belt tensioner, removed the CAT. And a new seal on the rear end. And a new alternator. (which was before the tensioner replacement)
Ok thank you for the reply , I have read somewhere the 04 tps and Egr Valve strategy is in cahoots with the EBP , I do have a New EBP for the truck I bought years ago , I’ll dig into that and see if the rough idle goes away , I’m not seeing anything weird on the gauges so this one has me Stumped
