Truck accelerates without throttle input
Say guys, after putting in a new lift pump and getting air out of things I noticed that twice now while accelerating through about 20 to 30 mph that the truck is moving faster than it should as I am not pressing down on the pedal. Its basically accelerating on its own for a short burst and then seems to settle down. Maybe still some air in the lines somewhere?

It could be Air surge, however it sounds like the governor is sticking, do this.
Go get your favorite Diesel Additive Cleaner/Lubricator.
The point is to get the cleaner/lubricant into the Injection Pump and let it set for awhile.
It should clear up within a tank fuel.

Go get your favorite Diesel Additive Cleaner/Lubricator.
- Warm up the truck.
- Shut it off.
- Pull the filter.
- Pour it out. (In an environmentally safe manor)
- Fill it up with your choice of Diesel cleaner/lubricator. (Diesel Kleen or whatever)
- Re-Install filter.
- Double or even Triple the mix of cleaner/lubricator in the tank.
- Start the truck.
- Let it run for 1 minute or so.
- Shut it off.
- Let it set for awhile ... Pretty much longer the better, to a point.
- Then take it for a ride.
The point is to get the cleaner/lubricant into the Injection Pump and let it set for awhile.
It should clear up within a tank fuel.

Ok, I will get on that asap, I think you are correct on the governor sticking as it is running smoothly other than the issue I described. I'm getting quite an education on these motors, thanks to you and some other guys on this site, thanks again. As they say, any day you learn something is a good one..
