DP Tuner thoughts

Going to be purchasing the F5 here soon with the following tunes: no start, stock, 60 tow, 80 tow, 80 eco.

What are your guys thoughts/opinions on the tunes those of you runnin them? not looking to race/romp on it all the time. Mainly for better driveability and towing.

Also thinking about the 100 hp, is it really much different from the 80 eco?

Tried searchin for "DP" but you need 3 letter words i guess

Look up on the right of the forum, DP-TUNER is the sponsor of our form. Click on it and it will bring you to their site.

You will not be disappointed with their tunes. I have them and love them like many on here do. I would not get the 100 tune, go for the 120 or 140. The 100 is very close to the 80e. I would also get the HIGH IDLE tune.

EDIT: I see you are running the superchip, I ran that chip 4 years before I got the DP. Get ready to say "WOW".

I've got the 60t altitude; 80e, and 120.

There is a marked difference between the 80e and 120. Glad I went that way, though I don't use the 120 often. Nice to know it's there if I need it though!

I see you are in Utah. I'm not sure of your elevation, but talk to Jody. He'll guide you, not try to sell you!!

Ditto. I got mine and asked to have the 100 perf. and he told me not to bother. It isn't that much different from the 80E. He said wait until I got my gauges, intake and exhaust done then send the chip back in for the extra tunes. starting with the 120.

80tow, 80E, 120Race

That is really all you need. Then a high idle or drive thru tune would be nice. Any other tunes you prob won't use.

I have 40t,60t,80t,80e,120r. I use 80E or 80T 99% of the time..

I love my DP, I used a superchips before and it was quite boring in comparison.
Splurge for the 120r, you will not use it often, but its nice to have on the big road when pesky little imports are buzzing around you.
I just wish I went with the F6, I keep doing mods, and I have to keep pullin the chip for a reflash. its out again for the Transgo Tugger.
You will enjoy the chip

no start, high idle, 60t, decel, 80t, 80e, 120 here. mainly use 80e and 80t. if you tow i would get the decel. the 120 is mainly for fun and boy is it fun. the high idle is nice but the engine will still idle up on its own. good luck with whatever tunes you chose. i would get what you think you may use, after having tunes you will not want to drive without them.

Th F6 is deff nice thats what I ended up getting just for the fact that if I want to get more tunes I get them in a day or two and don't have pull the chip from the truck right now I have the 80tow,80eco, 120race just ordered the 60eco. the other nice thing is you can try the tunes out first before you buy them. Downside is the initial cost of the F6 but im glad I went with it.

You will not be dissapointed. I went with the F6 also because I did not want to have to pull the chip out for a reburn. Look in my sig for tunes I have. Truck is so much nicer to drive now. Customer service is also very very good.

I've got a question of my own... I have the Ford engine control module in my truck so I wouldn't need to have any high-idle tunes... or would I? What are y'all's thoughts on that? I'm seriously looking into a DP-Tuner. I have the old Superchips and I kinda hate the one-tune tune... I can't change it on the fly and I never know when I may or may not tow. Plus, I don't like the way the truck shifts with it in it... seems like I'm gonna screw something up.

n20? U live in Utah? If so, just wait til next month and Jody will be at Wide Open Performance in Sandy. U can get a chip from him there. And i would recommend that u get the F6, just in case u decide to do mods later, Jody can email u the tunes instead of u having to send in your chip for updated tunes.

U will love his tunes, gonna put a smile on your face

Dp tuner thoughts

I like the 80eco but around town I like the 60 econ even better. The 80 is real quick on the pedal, A little to quick for real traffic. The 60eco is also quick my is not so stouchy in tite traffic. I also like the 40 tow and 60 tow I don't have the 80 tow.One other thought is the drive threw tune if your truck fits. It quites it right down. Good luck.
Not to change the subject, I e-mailed them three times in the last week and have not heard back, anyone else the same!

I think Jodi's phone message said he was out for the next week or so.
I believe Diane is there? she answered my post in the Computer Chips & Tuners - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums forum.
