I am looking to buy a exhaust for my 5.4 Expedition, and I am not sure what to buy. There are a lot of choices and I was wondering what you guys suggest. I am looking for a cat back exhaust with somewhat of a deep sound but not to much drone, glass packs or similar mufflers would be to loud for what I want. Price isn't that big of a deal but I don't want to spend $700 on a exhaust.

There is a thread about a nice system that someone had installed at a shop in Oklahoma, said the price was reasonable and the sound was good, not too loud. I think he said the muffler used was a Hush Thrush. Do a search, it was only about 6 weeks ago. It might be time for a Road Trip.

This info is from another poster;
went into Sooner Muffler at 10th and Broadway Extension in Edmond (shameless plug, but they do GREAT work at a GREAT price) because the silencer on my '01 Expy 4.6 seemed to be solid and stopped up and the pipes seemed to be knocking on the frame. They got it up on the rack and I told them that I just wanted them to cut it off and I would run with the muffler. He looked at it, and had me come under the truck and the pipe right in front of the muffler was in bad shape.
I told him that just gave me an excuse to put duals on it and he said that it wouldn't be necessary! He brought out a short, black muffler that he said was an SUV muffler. It sounds GOOD and runs even better! Almost sounds like a Mustang when it starts up and I am getting 2.8mpg better mileage. He replaced 3 hangers, ran stainless steel pipe from the muffler out to the back, and charged $165. I was out in 30 minutes!
I do not know what brand it was, but think it is a Hush Thrush.
I hope this helps.<!-- end of AOLMsgPart_2_14e3aae3-6577-4072-9076-ae37ed3e5718 --><STYLE>.AOLWebSuite .AOLPicturesFullSizeLink { height: 1px; width: 1px; overflow: hidden; } .AOLWebSuite a {color:blue; text-decoration: underline; cursor: pointer} .AOLWebSuite a.hsSig {cursor: default}</STYLE><LINK rel=stylesheet type=text/css href="http://o.aolcdn.com/cdn.webmail.aol.com/31423/css/microformat.css">
"Big Greenie", about a month ago my exhaust fell off because it was so rotted, So i took it off right after the y pipe. Now I want a new exhaust to replace it.

Glad I don't live in a "salty" state, mine still looks great
