I have stripped the rear diff off a 1974 Ford Fairlane 500. On the diff is a tag with the following on :
WFX-A 2KD
2L75 9 896E
Now obviously that means nothing to me, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to decode it. The car was from Australia (I think). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Mike
PS> Did Ford make a limited Slip-Diff back in 1974 ?
You know the "L" in that tag between the 2 and 75 is the identifier for a limited slip (or whatever it was called at that time). It's a factory 9" ring gear.
