Last night I noticed that the plastic on the bottom of the rear hatch glass was loose and coming off of my wifes Aviator. I removed it and it looks like it was installed with some sort of rubbery adhesive. Does anyone know what type of adhesive is supposed to be used to install this plastic? We just got the vehicle a few months ago and this was replaced due to being cracked. I don't know if a dealer did the install or the car lot we bought the car from. I have a paint and body supply store close to me and will probably get the supplies from them. If need be I will go to the stealership at a last resort.
I know that this plastic on the glas is always cracking and figured someone here has replaced one before. Thanks in advance.
The Ford part number for the adhesive is TA-9, Motorcraft Plastic Bonding Adhesive, and two tubes are required per TSB 05-24-2 which describes the process to replace the cracked panel with a new one.
