I sprayed my engine down tonight with some simple green and then washed with the hose. Waited about an hour then took a drive down the street. My Service Engine Soon light is coming on now. What's up?
if you use enough degreaser (and let it sit for a few minutes between applications) you dont need much water pressure to rinse. I recommend using a garden sprayer for application of degreaser and rinsing with water.
yep, stopped by the local diesel shop on the way to work and the code read ICP, he didn't give me the code number. My mind was still foggy. The connector is really corroded. I tried cleaning with some carb cleaner, but it didn't make any difference. The idle is erratic and the throttle response is really slow. The guy at the shop said they rarely have luck cleaning the connector and if that didn't work their next step would be to replace the connector. This truck came from Denver and you know how things corrode in that environment. That just doesn't happen over here in the high desert. So what do you think, try some dialectric grease, or just see if I can find the connector today and replace it.
I'm trying to get to the lake for the first time, leaving tomorrow. I've been working my a** off for 14 weeks now since my dually got stolen. I was finally to the point last night where I didn't have any major things to do so I decided I'd clean up the truck a little, and what did I get? Another project. Please stop!
If you end up replacing the pigtail international dealer off of 6th and I -40 should have them. The dealers is called Roberts truck stop I believe. Here is the part number for international:
Going down to the butte. Thanks so much for the part number, that is awesome! I didn't even think of going to the International Dealer. I'm gonna eat me some delicious Bass this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes.
I pulled the connector off and let it dry for a couple hours. I went out a few minutes ago and took a drive and its all good. I went down to the International Dealer and got a new connector anyway. I figure for $10 if it was that corroded I'm going to replace it anyway. Thanks for the help guys!
