Fuel Tanks

Does anyone know of an aftermarket fuel tank company? I would like a larger fuel tank in the stock location for an F250 2005 with the 5.4 motor. All the places I have tried including Titan fuel tanks they only make them for diesel tanks

You're going to run into a lot of diesel tanks and very few gasoline tanks. It is very hard to get government approval for the larger gasoline tanks, since they are considered part of the emissions equipment.

Diesel engines don't have the evaporative canisters (and associated tubing and monitoring crud) to control fuel fumes.

Try transfer flow tanks. I just got a 47 gallon in my 09 f250 5.4. It's the only place I could find that made one for a gas truck.

Transferflow.com Without a doubt one of the best aftermarket fuel tank companies to deal with. Stock location gasoline tanks are limited due to above stated reasons but they have some great in bed and combo tool box options. They have some great install deals if you happen to be around the Chico, Ca. area.

I'm in Florida. I was hoping not to tie up bed space. Can you modify a diesel tank to work? I'm going to check out Transfer Tanks. Thanks

The transfer flow tank that I bought is a replacement for the factory tank. It mounts in the original location so we still have full use of the bed to haul our 4 wheeler.

I have the transfer flow 47 for my diesel. Nice tank, heavy steel. I wonder if the "diesel" tank would work also.

Check the transfer flow website for a dealer or talk with a local truck accessory place to see if they can get it. I'm in texas so the place I bought mine is gonna be a little far for you to drive. Transfer flow will ship it to you if you want to do it yourself.

diesel tanks are less regulated on placement than gas because of there explosive values. gas being a lot more explosive, the tanks have to be located where they cant be punctured in wreck. that is a lot of the reason in bed tanks have the warning labels on them that they are for diesel only.

Looks like a nice tank except the OP was asking about "gas" not diesel.
