CCV Mod ?

After doing the CCV mode do you put anything on the exhaust end of the hose? If not do you end up getting oil dripping where you park your truck?

Thanks, Brice

Most folks leave it open I think.I put a screen fom a submersible pump on mine so nothing would build a nest in the hose...Do not know why something would build a nest in that environment but you never know
I do not see much dripping from mine.

IDK how long yours has been done, but, with the northern winters, be careful of the gunk in the hose freezing...where yours goes back up, stuff will collect in there and freeze, clogging the hose, and defeating the CCV, causing some issues...IMHO...

mine just runs to the a$$ end of the truck, and blows a little smoke out, but hasn't dripped anything yet...did you take any pics??

yeah, the smoke's pretty normal, and there may be some drips of oil...think about it, look at your old oily boots and imagine that now, that oily residue is just blowing out the a$$...not blowing into the turbo, the intercooler, the boots, setting up inside the pipes...

I'm pretty sure mine is...it's been awhile since i did my CCV mod, and i cleaned everything up, but still have oil residue on the boots...hmmm...seems as though the 300+k on my truck b4 i did the mod may mean i need to replace my IC with a 6blow one...

Yeah went back to stock. Didn't like breathing all that smoke when hooking up a trailer. IDK but seems like a useless mod IMO. I'm sure I will get some chit from that.

thats there for emissions, if it wasnt for them, they'd roll off the lot with a smokin tube under em! although.....what if you welded a 3/4 pipe off the tailpipe ( pointed forward to create a siphon effect) and tied it to that. you would never notice the smoke then, the tailpipe gets hot, but so does the valve cover. id try it!
