The problem is your door latch switch. There are numerous threads here on that problem. Try the Search function to find them for instructions on what to do. It seems many modern fords have this design defect. They should have a recall and replace all the switches on a few million vehicles with a better switch.
I can't seem to find information on fixing this problem. I too have experienced this and would like to find the remedy; however, I have searched the website and mailing list with no luck. I have searched for "door ajar" "door light switch" and also both terms together. Is there something I'm doing wrong here?
You must not be searching right, or the software is screwed up or something. Rest assured that there are hundreds of posts on here regarding the door latch switch. I'd say it comes up about once a week.
Basicly, what it comes down to is spraying A LOT of WD-40 into your door latch to clean the latch switch. Don't be stingy on the WD-40, soak the door latch, open and shut the door a few times, then spray some more. When your satisfied that the switch is moving freely and won't stick anymore, then you can stop.
Apparently I wasn't searching right. I was using the 'search' in the blue column along the righthand side of the page and it just wasn't working. After I found another search button at the top of the forums, I tried it and I got results. As I said, I might be dumb...
