Brake Booster replacement

Hey yall...I know the brake booster is going out on my 79 Bronco, but I am unsure how to replace it from start to finish. I know the MC has to come off, then where is the booster connected? Once it's all put back together, how do you properly bleed? These are the kinds of questions I have. So if anyone has done a write up or has a link or wouldn't mind telling me how to do this, I would appreciate it. I'm sorry for the dumb question, but I'm still a wrenching newbie with limited fundage. Thanks for any and all help.

If you do not remove the brake lines from the master cylinder, you will not have to bleed anything. Remove the master from the booster, and disconnect only the vacuum line. easiest to unplug the entire line and 90 degree fitting.
Next remove the bolts from the firewall, and disconnect the linkage attached to the pedal.
Remove the linkage and pushrod from inside of the booster. This will be used for the install.
Next remove the bracket from the old booster and install it on the new one.
Assemble and drive.
No bleeding necessary.

Thanks for the quick response. So will I have to access the linkage from inside or will that be visible when I unbolt the booster?

FWIW...I was going to separate the master cylinder and do the F350 upgrade. So my question there is, what exactly is bench bleeding? I know how to bleed the system when it's all together, just not sure what bench bleeding is.

Again, thanks for the help.

One part of the linkage connects to the back of the booster, inside the engine bay. The other part of the linkage connects to the brake pedal. So you'll have to do work on both sides of the firewall.

They're held on with pins that notoriously get stuck. I had to drill mine out and get new ones.

I wouldnt worry about upgrading it. i didnt even know the f350s were different. when i went to replace mine i found out it was just the grommet on the vaccum hose that connects to the booster itself being bad. i would try that if i were you its alot less work and it fixed mine perfectly
