lighting
i have a 97 expedition. first, the truck did not come with lights in the bumper, is the wireing there? also, the running board lights dont work, i checked fuses,bulbs, etc... is there something i am missing, or a common fix?

As for the lights in the bumper, in 98 the wiring was there and all you needed was the lights and a different headlight switch. So I expect the same would be true of a 97. On the issue of the running board lights I have not had any experience working on them as mine have always worked.

There's a relay in the under dash fuse box that turns off the running board lights after a door has been open for 45 minutes to save battery power. Surprisingly, they call this the battery saver relay. 
If this relay is no good or not turning on, then the running board lights won't work. Just a thought...

Yes, the Interior lamp relay is #1 top left. The Battery saver relay is #2 and is directly below the #1 Interior lamp relay.
