First off , I just want to say thanks for all the good information I have been reading on this forum . I'm a new user , but have been reading and searching the posts on here for a while .
I was curious if ford offered a red headliner in the 73-79 ford trucks . I have been looking for red interior parts , and I'm having a hard time finding any thing . Before I try and paint one , I was just curious if that was even a factory option . I'm trying to make the interior look like a stock 1976 , Ford , F250 .
Thanks in advance .
Just got my new LMC Truck Magazine, page 87 has the ColorBond paint, red 42-0757 - $12.95 per can, and the headliner on page 89 in gray. Part 49-5073 - $89.95. FYI...hope it helps...
they had Medium Vermillion which is a red (more crimson then fire truck red)....
I had red, but I switched it all out, new door panels, dash, carpet, headliner...switched to black because it is more readily available, the problem I had was finding colors that match...just because it was the same color 35 years ago, doesn't mean it still is (dang old sun just cripples colors)
Yes, they made red interior parts. My buddy's truck has the stock red interior. He found the headliner on E-Bay a couple of years ago for $100 in near mint condition. here's a pic of his interior, you can just see the corner of his headliner in this pic. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...=70856&width=0 These came in high trim level trucks such as the lariat trucks. They are made of vinyl not cardboard like lower trim levels. I have a green one in my truck as well. Keep looking and you'll find one or you can paint a cardboard one to match. -Ed
I just stripped the interior out of a 76 Ranger XLT; had a oem red headliner with chrome trim; in excellent condition along with the wood trim dash panels. Key word (HAD) !
77460f150 , thanks for the picture . That gets me motivated to work on my interior . Customcab , thats the story of my life . Day late and a dollar short usually .
Regardless of color if you find one; you can use Krylon fusion paint and spray it to match. In my Highboy as well as my daughter 78 F100; the headliners are cover with aftermarket fabric glued on with 3m spray. I match my dash pad, headliner & inserts on my door panels. Can't see to well in my gallery but looks good enough for me.
