Bought my last one from The Truck Shop out of Orange county CA. I would beleive there all the same manufacture style if not same supplier.
Easy to install and there even just the float option to replace if you think that will solve your problem. Check local auto apart dealers; might be surprise which one has just the float; could save from spending for whole unit.

The
usual reason why the fuel gauge on the dash reads in-correctly is caused by the sending unit's float.
The float is made from two pieces of copper soldered together.
Solder breaks down, gas seeps in, float slowly settles to the bottom of the tank.
Before buying a new sending unit, remove the old one, take the float off and shake it.

I just ordered the float assembly. You got to buy two of them in one shot! I will have them either friday or monday.
I tried DC earlier but they were out of stock on them.

Not necessarily, it depends.
If the dealer doesn't stock the parts, they have to be special ordered. Since the floats come in a package of two, both (usually) must be purchased.
Once a dealer sells one part from a package quantity of two or more, he's stuck with the others until he sells them.
Parts in "broken packages" cannot be returned to Ford.
If the dealer stocks the part, you only have to buy one.

That is what my local ford dealer told me. He was amazed when it was still a listed part. They go bad often and enough of my friends have older fords so it aint somthing that is going to be a burden if I want to get rid of it.

Tis!
1957/79: The same fuel sending unit float (COAZ9202B) fits everything!
All: 1957/79 Passenger Cars & Trucks, 1966/79 Bronco's and 1961/79 Econolines.
The myriad sending units used in all these vehcles are different, but the float is same-o same-o!
