I think I need to get my meter calibrated. Silly thing reads .2-.4 with the leads not touching anything. But when I touched the leads to the battery posts it did not jump up any.
I thought he was trying to read AC to detect a leaking diode!

Yes, but I was trying to do the poor man's method he described later with checking for AC voltage.
