Loyal Lady
The day after she was diagnosed with cancer, the dog was diagnosed with a similar cancer.
The chemo made her ill and bedridden. Shortly after, the dog went down also.
Scott called me just before Christmas around 11pm one night to tell me that his mother had passed.
I asked how his dad was taking it and if the dog had improved. He said that the dog passed a couple of hours after she had.
I fear the day one of our three dogs pass. I am not sure what it will do to my wife. I love my dogs, but they are more than dogs to her.
My 2-1/2 year old English Springer Spaniel (Russ) stays by my side. Always.
Yeah, he goes with my wife and kids whenever they ask him if he wants to go for a walk, etc., but, otherwise, that 40 lbs of affection is right by my side.
He had a stomach 'problem' this past weekend.
He and I stayed downstairs, where I could get him outside quickly, if need be.
He never went to the steps leading to the bedrooms.
He stayed with me the entire weekend.
To say that I love that dog is an understatement.
On the lighter side. . . .
You can tell who your best friend in this life is.
Put your wife in the trunk of the car, and leave her there for a half hour.
Put your dog in the trunk of the other car, and leave him/her in there for a half hour.
When you open the trunk(s). . . . which one will be happy to see you???
Which one will be more than willing to show some affection, love and kisses????
That's right. You KNOW which one!!!
