pulling engine out

I am ready to pull my engine.. question is they make those plates that bolt to the intake. are they safe to use? I just put my intake back on a month ago.

I have no other hooks to use and dont like the old eyebolt in the block method

Yeah that is a safe method, I never heard of one failing. I used a four foot section of chain, and a few grade 8 bolts from the hardware store on my 300 I6 last summer, worked real well for me. I also used those bolts in my engine stand, they worked real well there too.

I've never heard of one failing but on a aluminum manifold I always shim the studs up with nuts and washers so the plate will blot down tight.

Very handy tool for this operation. I've used one several times and like the fact it gives me a little play in the attachment loops to help position it just right. Speaking of the loops...I've alway's used the front loop since the engine is front heavy and allows it to sit level.
