I mistakenly posted this as a reply to a previous question. I found a brand new brass prop valve that I was hoping I could use in updating my 1965 F100 to front disc brakes with the disc brake set up from a 1978 F150. The valve fits my 78 frame bracket but does not have a bleeder. I think it's an early 80's valve.
I'm hoping you 80's guys could i.d. this part. Although the Ford box is marked E4TZ-2B257-C the part is stamped E4TA-2524-K2A.
All this worry is because it doesn't have a bleeder? I have never had to use a bleeder on the proportioning valve on any car I have ever owned when I had to bleed the brakes. I have heard of some of the valves having bleeders, but have never used it because I have never needed it.
I did a google search on the first number and some hits came up. I think I read it was a valve for a 84 f250.
I think the proportioning valve bleeder started disappearing in the late 70's-early 80's.
If the valve you have fits the frame, and the lines can be made to fit, it will likely work fine.
