spring to leaf conversion

spring to leaf conversion

i found a candidate at the Junk yard, a 1970 F100 4x4...with a HP D44 the only issue is that its held up with springs if i wanted to put this on my truck id have to swap the springs to leaf so how hard it the conversion?
ill be there again taking measurements tomorrow... this is just something on my mind and i cant find any good info on a spring to leaf but plenty of info going the other way..
if you done this or know for sure this is a good candidate let me know

That axle actually does have smaller diameter tubes and has drum brakes- You'd be far ahead to use a 78-79 D44HD high pinion, they generally run about the same price.
