So I tried taking pictures of it at night but I cant get my flash to not work on my camera so youll have to trust me on this one when I say it lights up pretty darn good. Since I had another cluster hanging around Id thought I try some more color combos with it so I did. I painted the casing on this one and I might take it out with the one I have cause I think the silver one I just did looks really nice. Let me know if I should exhange the stock black casing with the silver one in the pic.

I like the silver casing with the gauges, that is how I did mine. It completes the bottom of the smaller gauges.

I think the red gauges would work fine if you painted the numbers white or silver, just a thought.

never even thought about the silver, I did however use the rattle-can chrome on the inside to help get the light to reflect around better

The custom work does not go unappreciated. But depending on the generation of truck more people expect them to be work trucks vs. customs and vice versa. The 80-86 is still new enough more people like them to be work trucks, unlike the early-mid 50's more people like them as customs. The 80-86 is still built to be a work truck so it seems to be they are expected to be used as such. To each their own.

Yea thats why I think it makes the fact of customizing these trucks so great just because you dont see them with different things done to it becuase they're always covered in mud and with dents in the bed and such.

The third world countries still use the 50's trucks as work trucks. It's amazing seeing those trucks still being worked and running like a top.Unfortunately,in my town I used to see alot of 80-86's in the less fortunate parts of town, and they were beat to death by some of those individuals.Nice top of the line Lariats were filled with dents and dirt and mismatched wheels. Most of them ended up in my local junkyards. Then, when it got hard to find running 80-86's,I started to see 8th gens. Now it's up to 9th gens, and they still aren't getting treated like they should. But,it's their trucks,so all I can do is drive by and just look the other way.
