I think the aluminum trim on it for the "wrong bed" box is pretty rare also.

No see 'um tailgate.

It may be hidden under all that junk in the bed, but if not...don't pay a nickel for this truck without first asking for it.

If the seller has it...it may be lying around somewhere out back. If the seller doesn't have it, oh well....

The 'wrong bed' tailgate is very hard to find, and is worth prolly what the seller wants for this entire old rolling pile of miseries.

Man I wish I lived in the dessert too!

My 63 F100 with the wrong box has rust. I have an intact tailgate but it too has some rust.

Yeah, my 63 is the same, nothing like a little metal work to bring it around through.

We will see what happens, if i can get it to run i will keep it. it does not have a rear tail gate and i'm not to keen on 250's.... i like 1/2 ton trucks better

AND i do not like the widowmakers (split rims).

1957/64: Only F500/700's came with 292 4V's. F100/350's came w/292 2V's, VIN engine code C.

This pick-em-ups 292 prolly has a 1957 Ford Passenger Car 292/312 intake manifold/Holley 4V on it, which was a popular swap back then.

The A/C is prolly aftermarket, the radio is...for sure.

If that is the case, I'd bet that intake/carb is a wanted item by many in the Y-block fan club!

You betcha! The intake manifold alone is harder to find...today then hens teeth.

The 4V manifold was only used on 1957 Thunderchickens/Ford's with 292/312's and el cheapo 1958 Mercury Medalists w/the 312....ALL as an option.

1955's w/292's used the Holley "toilet bowl" 4V, the choke is mounted...are you ready for this...on the intake manifold.

1956's w/292/312's used a similar 4V Holley toilet bowl, the choke is mounted on the carb.

Intakes used with toilet bowls have a different carb bolt pattern, so cannot be used with modern carbs.

1000's of ppl swapped that manifold onto their 1955/56 Ford/Birds to get rid of those awful carbs.

btw: Some ppl call toilet bowls carbs "Teapots" but if you ever had one...you'd know why we called 'em toilet bowls, cuz...that's where they belong...in the crapper!
