A/C SYS HEADS UP
Just had to replace the compressor and other parts of my 04 F250 ac sys. When we took the manifold off the back of the compressor we found the problem area. The line running close to the exhaust is wrapped in insulation and foil. My line was very badly rusted under the insulation to the point of penetrating the line and pieces of rust getting into the compressor. Compressor was damaged beyond repair and is trash. That line didn't look at all bad until I removed the insulation as there was a hint of refrig oil on it. The truck only has 1-1k on it but was used to plow snow before I bought it. Some 800$ later the system is like new with a complete flush and all new parts with the exception of the evaporator and condenser. Anybody looking for a good 6.0 mechanic in So. Jersey drop me a line. Same guy that did this repair did my oil cooler and erg replacement without any problems and much less than the dealer would have charged.

I guess I was lucky parts at $600 and $200 for labor. Compressor, receiver dryer, manifold, flush chem and recharge r134. System worked great today with temps about 81 or so.
