I have a 1994 5.0 F-150 , I use 1 quart of oil every 250 miles. I have 180k miles on it. I use Quakerstate high mileage oil in it. I need suggestions on ways to cure this Blowbye , I also discovered that I am blowing black smoke whenever I kick down into overdrive . I have put a new Pcv valve in , I am @ a loss of what else to do . I need this thing to last me atleast another year. The repair shop has no other ideas. I'm hopin' its not the rings.

well your first mistake was using Quaker State in your engine i have seen engines that use that and after 50000 miles the wax that is in the oil builds up and clogs the oil galleys in the block. You may be in need of a rebuild what i would try is get some castrol or valvoline 20w50 or some rotella 15w40 and put that in there along with a quart of lucas oil stabilizer and see if that fixes your problem. I will tell you though that is only a temporary fix you are probably going to need a rebuild in the future
