I notice when my hood is shut there is a good sized space and I was wondering if there is some weather strip that is missing. I looked at the underside of the hood and there are some spaced holes that seem related. It looks like a lot of rain water would blow in that gap when running along. Thanks for any help.
Fellas,
IF you're trying to keep your truck as original, realize that the earlier '65s had the 6 oblong hood bumpers and the later '65s were equipped with just 3 round bumpers. Another factor to look at is whether or not you have the original style fenders and radiator support (meaning with the correct number and placement of bumper holes) as it would have had when your truck was originally manufactured.

There's no weatherstrip at the front of the hood, but there is one attached to the cowl where it meets the rear of the hood.

In addition to the cowl rubber which is attached with special nails...there are 3 round hood bumpers used on late 65 and 66 model year trucks...they are held onto the fenders(1 per fender at front edge) by a phillips head screw. The one up front is slightly off center screwed onto the upper header panel.
The earlier trucks used 4 side oval bumpers on the fenders which when popped out the oval hole is plainly visible.
