Don't konw anything about the man, but it seems to me ,if the bad guys still don't like him after all these years. Thats testimony enough of his character and a loss that will be felt for many years OBCB

I was pretty out of the news loop this last week. One of the gals I worked with all weekend is a Lieutenant, now working downtown in the new building, and she's the one who told me he had passed.
We got to talking, and she related stories from the inside. At one point she had a tear in her eye. The rank and file respected him like no other since.
According to her, the new guy, Charlie Beck, comes closest to that status, with them, of any since.
