power steering pump whine
I've posted in the past about my '02 F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 with the 5.4L having an engine whine. After replacing the power steering pump, the whine is still there. I disconnected the serpentine belt and the whine went away. With the belt back on, the whine is back. I used the screwdriver to the ear method to pinpoint the noise. Seems to be most prevalent at the elbow coming out of the pump on the high pressure side. No noise noted around the AC compressor, alternator, tensioner, idler pullies etc. What do you think? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance for you help.
