The fuel tank selector valve in my 1993 F-250 took a dive. I checked voltage (good in both directions) I even hear it "zip" but it does not change position. Could it possibly be that the 100% bio-diesel I am running has finally done it in? Can I buy a rebuild kit or do I buy one already rebuilt? Maybe the valve that slides back and forth is clogged and won't slide? Where is a good place to get one?
Thanks

I purchased a new valve at Autozone the other day (been running on one tank all this time). Paid $63. including 6% tax.I would like to flush the old one out since I can still hear it make a "zip" noise when I select a different tank. Also, since I replaced the pickup tubes on the tanks and didn't install filter screens on the ends, I probably have some crap in the valve. I intend to put some inline filters on each line from the tank to the valve. Has anyone had any luck flushing out the valve?
Thanks to all of you for your help in this matter.

just remember the FSV is universal and a wire harness is required with it.if you didn't get that from AZ,you will need to go back and get one.
tip: the one i linked to includes it in case yours didn't.
if you can here it select, you may have a plugged up pick up tube/fuel line.
If you unhook all the fuel lines, I see no reason you couldn't use low pressure air (10 PSI) to blow through it back wards while flipping the tank switch front to back a couple times.
If you tank pick up tube had the bottom piece disintegrate in the tank, you probably have some trash in the valve.
When I did mine, I cleaned the tanks out, no filter before the engine mounted filter.
If I had a filter under the truck, it would clog when I was in mud a couple feet deep or water/snow up to the frame.
But that is just how my luck runs.
At least with the filter up top, I am not laying in it.
