460 not starting

my brother was driving my f150 in the yard it has a fuel injected 460 in it... he said it was like the truck ran out of gas (shaking and sputtering) he filled the tank with 20 more liters or so and it did not start back up but i guess they used either on it and said it fired up i have not checked this myself because i have been out of town working i just got back .. i so far have checked that it is priming and there is fuel in the fuel rail now i guess my questions would be what should i check next what should be the fuel pressure be at the little valve and has anyone had this happen to them? it does have a new fuel filter

sorry for the long post and thanx for any help!

Not running with pin #6 of the EEC self-test connector grounded and the key on 45 PSI.

If it has spark and fuel pressure in the rail I would check next to see if the injectors are firing. Unplug one of them and plug in a noid light and crank it and see if the noid light flashes.

I do not know what you mean by "a simple wire tester".
If you have a neon test light you could hook it between the two wires of one of the unplugged injectors plugs. That would be about the same as a noid light.
Some auto part stores like O'Reilly will rent a noid light set.

This is an 87 w the carb right? Just pull the fuel line off the carb and see if you are getting fuel. My guess would be the return filter at the carb is returning too much fuel OR your fuel pump relay is bad. You only need 5-8 psi to make the truck run

Dose the EEC power relay click when the key is turned on?
In other words do you have power to ground with test light from one of the red wires going to the injector plugs with the key on?

I guess my injectors are working I took a spare injector and it is poping so I have spark and I have power to the injectors. When I turn the truck on I can hear the relays click and I have fuel in the fuel rail I am lost now could this be a bad computer problem or somehow my timing is now off? What way would I turn the distributor if I wanted to advance it a hair?

and far as it being a abortion truck I don't think it is everything in is where Its supposed to be and there is no hack job wiring and everything worked perfect I thought that 87 and up where all fuel injected ?
