new here and just bought a 66 f250. I will post picts tonight as I work on a military base and cannot access photobucket and the likes.
my truck has 9.5 x 16.5 tires with non-split rims 8 lug (outies). I would like to put 15" white steel spoke rims on it. will they fit? I have drum brakes front and rear. tire and wheel prices for 15" seem to be more reasonable. I have searched and only found reference to front disc brakes.
Welcome aboard;
I no what you mean by looking at 16.5 wheels & tire combo; not a great choice and few manufacture styles.
I recommend doing a goggle search and check also ebay; several tire selection on there.
I recently found an old 70's F250 van (salvage yard truck) with 16.5's chrome spoke's and 31's tires; put them on a 76 F250; then came across some 37's Hummer Oz tires from a military surplus; now I'm in high cotton.
So the market is there just not the best choice selection.

Welcome to FTE
F100/150, Bronco & Econoline 15" wheels will not fit F250's, the bolt pattern is totally different: 5 lug, 5.50" bolt circle pattern vs 8 lug 6.50" bolt circle pattern.
Ford did not offer 15" wheels for any F250/350's, or E250/350's. 16" was the smallest available size.
You might find something in the aftermarket sector, or you could have the wheels made up by Stockton Wheel (stocktonwheel.com).
Nice lookin slick, welcome to FTE, and just personally I would go with 16", you have a much, much larger selection, and the price difference is really not horribly bad,,,,and you can find plenty of take-offs... I had some Mickey thompson Classic II's on my 66 F250 16x10 were to wide, 16x8 are perfect with 265/70/16,,, https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...&albumid=24792
Will factory 8 lug steel wheels from any F250 fit? Aren't all Ford 16" 8 lug wheels the same bolt pattern up to 1997, 8 x 6.5"? In 1999 they went to metric from my understanding. 1980 - 1997 F250s are readily available in the junkyards if those wheels will fit. Someone will have to verify this first, as I'm not 100% sure.
thanks. I went to my new wheels and ordered 15x8 w/4" b.s. raw. should be here next week. will paint red for the " rod" look. think I will put 265/75/15 on it. will post picts when available.
wheels were $93 ea plus shipping.
