I have a 86 f250 6.9 4x4 automatic. The turbo is gone its got a lot of play and you can here it hit the housing. So i took it off today and was wondering if any one could help put it back to factory. Maybe someone has a picture they can post. I dont have the money to rebuilt or buy a new one right now thanks alot and very appretiate. You guys on here have help me alot thanks.
If the impeller has been hitting the housing, it's likely shot. You will need bearings, seals and likely a new impeller shaft. Bearings and seals would not be real expensive but the shaft won't be cheap.
Hypermax would be the place to start. They may have a rebuild/exchange program!
What do you need pictures of? I just pulled the factory 6.9 out of my truck the other weekend, pressure washed it tonight and pulled the intake/heads off. But I could set it all back in place if you want to see something specific.
Well was just wanting a picture to see how the cdr vavle thang mounted back on and where the orignal locaton is on a automatic motor. And i might be interrested in selling the kit i have but not shure what they go for with a bad turbo. No cracks in the housing that i can see just needs rebiult and dont have much money to spare right now.
Sorry it took all day for me to get these up - ended up driving quite a ways to get parts for my buddies car today (his harmonic balancer seperated into 2 parts)
Hopefully these will cover any questions you have on the 6.9 naturaly aspirated setups.
