I have an 09 Lariat and forgot to order the upgraded sound system so I am building it myself. I recently purchased the sail panels with the built in tweeters and was wondering if the wiring will be in the doors for them? I popped the old sail panel off and didn't see the harness? Worst case, I will t-tap the front speaker wires but I am hoping I dont have to.
Go to the Dealer you bought the truck from and ask them for a wiring schematic of your current and upgraded sound system. They should have no problem making copies from their manuals.
I have done this before for the electric windows in one of my vehicles.

Thanks for any help.
I did the same thing with my XLT. Sounds much better - really raises the soundstage. I got mine off ebay and they came with the extra wiring harness/splitter. All the harness does is split the original wiring (from radio to door speaker) wiring into 4 wires instead of 2. You could save some money on the harness just tapping into the current wiring. But if you don't want to do that, the harness fits perfectly, and mounts securely to do doorframe. I believe there is a miniature crossover mounted in the tweeter suroundings - to block the lower frequencies from going to the tweeter. Sounds good now

The harness that you got from ebay, was it a factory part? did it just plug into the existing harness? I already have the tweeters and was thinking of putting them in the doors unless I could just plug them in behind the dash then I could just buy the pillars for tweeters. any pics?
Thanks
