Try the folks over at Ohio Gen, when my FICm went out I was hot to trot on a new Alt. (Sorry Mark) I talked to them told them what I was trying to accomplish and the hooked me up with a price and specs.
225 amp out put max
110 amp output at idle
The only thing that needed to be added was a 4 guage wire.
It was 495.00 + shipping. I was gonna buy 2 and that would save me 10%.
Yes it was pricey, and it kind of fell by the wayside.
Heres the number 330-875-6677 I spoke to Cliff.
I would tell them what you are doing and let them decide what you need.
Ok, so I'm not very tech savy when it comes to electrical work in these trucks....I try and stick with more powertrain stuff. But anyways, if I were to want to do this huge 275amp alternator, will running 190amps at idle hurt anything if I don't have anything except the stock stuff hooked up to it? I am planning on running a lot of stuff in the future, but right now I don't have anything except a winch on the front. Also, will I need to beef up the wiring? Just what exactly all has to be done in order to be able to run this big of an alternator, and can it be done without any accessories?

Ya, you'll probably need to add a busbar for that thing.
