I have 2 carbs , both are 2100/ 2150 motorcrafts. Both have the 1.08 venturies. The 1 I am using is a bare bones 2100 with no electrical connections, The 2150 has a black electrical solenoid that fastens onto the back of the carb with 3 phillips screws. I have been told that it's the altitude compensator. Ok now the question, Can I take it off and plug whatever is in there, or just leave it in and don't connect it to anything? I prefer to take it off and do away with it if that's possible. This is to get me running while I rebuild the original which might be sometime, because I just had heart surgery and can't lean over a fender but I'm getting my thoughts straight for when I do. Thanks in advance.
2150 is the best off road carb out there hands down. I ran one for years and loved it. Now I am stuck with a 4bbl because I have a high rise intake due to the heads I have on my current motor, and in my opinion it just sucks compared to the 2 bbl. I dont have enough space to to get a 2bbl on there because of the extra height of the adapter plate and the hood clearance with a scoop on the hood! No room under there..... Holley actually still makes the thing too..... in 350cfm and 500cfm....
