Crankee.... no startee?????
Ok.. This was odd....... Last night, I go to start my Expy, put in my PATS key, turn the engine over, here it crank and I THOUGHT it fired. Let the key off. Nothing. The engine is warm so it shouldn't take any time to start. Odd.... Turn the key again, it cranks to beat the band but doesnt start and my THEFT light is flashing. Huh. Take the key out, use the aftermarket remote start and she fires right up. Put the key in, turn the ignition switch on and everything lights up and all is well. So I drive home. Turn it off. Try to start it again, again it seems to fire but the THEFT light is flashing and nothing. I go inside and get my spare PATS key, put IT in and crank, again, crankee, no startee. Odd. Sounds like a call to my local Ford garage in the morning. This morning, I grab ALL my keys including the FORD key I have. Use the OEM fob to lock and arm the alarm and then unlock the doors. Get in, put my FORD key in and it cranks and starts. Shut it off, grab my PATS key, put it in and it cranks and starts. Theft light is out.
One more bit of info. Last night, I did NOT lock or alarm it before I tried to start it. Was in a Wally World parking lot and ran in for a minute so I did not lock it.
