hi everyone! I am running a 78 f-150 with a 71 400 in it and the engine has been in the truck for about 1 year and has had no running problems what so ever. This past weekend i had the vehicle running to charge the battery and all of a sudden the truck wont idle anymore. It has a edelbrock 600 w/ electric choke. When i look in the carb with the engine off and open the throttle, there is fuel squirting in and it is in a good solid stream. the truck sometimes will run when working the throtttle and other times it wont, any ideas?

What kind of intake gaskets are you using? I used just the tin valley pan and the rubber end pieces. I wonder if there is a leak from there that is throwing off the air fuel mix.?!?!? I will post any findings that i come up with.

I have not gotten back to trying this on mine yet, but i have read in other forums that part of the problem could be the ignition control module. These other guys are saying the truck runs fine for about ten min., then when it gets warm the motor dies. They have eliminated a no fuel issue. They also say if the module is ok, that it could be a weak coil.
