Just double checking

Later on I plan on putting a V8 back in the ole girl. in all reality I should just have to unbolt the old motor and pull it, then drop new motor in. The only electrical stuff should be the starter and coil the way it is now with the inline 6 right. I know I will need diff motor mounts and stuff like that I just want to make sure thats all the electrical stuff for the actual engine part of it.

Engine Transplant

I think you will have to move the radiator yoke back in the engine compartment; the 6 cylinder is longer than the 8 cyl ?

Yes I believe that the 6 is longer than the 8 so you mean move the radiator back towards the motor right?

is she an original v-8 truck tardster ??? the v8's have a second crossmember behind the front one yer six should be bolted too . i think the only diff in the radiators is actually the length of the shroud . the v-8's is longer depth wise , than the sixes . don't know for sure but i think that was it .

Don't forget about the oil pressure gauge wire, the temperature gauge wire and the wires connecting the generator to the voltage regulator.

These are in addition to the ignition wire going to the coil and the starter cable from teh starter solenoid.

There should also be a grounding cable running to the engine from the frame or battery.

Heater hoses if installed.

Throttle linkage

Choke cable

Throttle cable if installed.

If you have a shop manual it tells you what to disconnect in the "Remove Engine" section.

If you don't have a shop manual, it's time to get one.
