Help What the heck happened?

While traveling Sat. Truck bucked twice, almost thought i ran over two cows.

Felt like it was turned off then on, off then on about that fast.

Turbo whine went away, Turbo PSI would rise with throttle position but no additional power. Could drive 70 Mph but noticed any elevation change, take off from a stop was obvious Turbo wasn't alive and contributing.

No Smoke, White or Black.

Continued 20+ miles to dealer where i shut it off and asked for help.

Dealer wouldn't look at it and said it may have dropped an injector, or Turbo cratered, best guess.

Connected SCT Tuner to check DTC's and Nothing!

Went back out and started it just fine, turbo whine was back and drove it the rest of the weekend, in 4 Hi up and down Mtns. and back home 200+ miles at 70+ mph.

It is tuned by Eric was set on Performance, no Cat, cat back MBRP exh. power elbow. nothing has changed or done to the Truck for months.

Drove it 100 miles today without a hickup max Turbo PSI is between 20 and 30 i'd guess 25 or 26 ish.

Coolant level is at Min and appears to be clean.

Any ideas?

You ran over two cows, one of which caused a hairball to get caught in the turbo, thus muffling the wine. The lack of power was because you were dragging 2,400 pounds of beef under your truck. Eventually the steaks became ground beef, the load got lighter, and now you're back to normal. Oh, and the hairball burned out of the turbo.

I actually had a similar thing happen right after I got my truck. I replaced all the filters even though they only had 3000 mile on them. I never had it happen again.

Thanks for the creative replies, i actually giggles on a couple.

But seriously, what could have happened that caused the turbo to quit until restarted?

Everything else i can live with knowing if it happens again it will still drive fine once restarted...... or will it?

Momentary jam in EGR or VGT vanes would do it.
