I'm wanting to have some different lights. I'm thinking of having clear park lights from aftparts.com. I considered pure clear tail lights from there as well. So, what do you like best? Clear headlights, park lights, and tail lights? Clear head and park lights and stock tails? Smoked head, park, and tails? Clear head and park and smoked tails? I do NOT want euros because they look pretty dumb. I'm thinking most likely of clear park lights and just give my stock tails a really good restoration. Please leave whatever feedback you have!
I used 3m Polishing Compound (clear coat safe) on my tail lights and it is amazing how good they look. Ford sprayed some UV resistant coating on them and this coating became dull .The 3M removed this dull UV coating and polished the plastic lens.
After the polishing-it is possible to see yourself in the lens from three feet away. And they have a smooth and wet look to the taillight lens now.
I would keep the stock tails. You can try restoring them. That usually makes them look good. If you need new ones, get some TYC ones from Autozone or Ebay has them pretty cheap. I have the TYC ones and they are nice.
I wouldn't run clear tail lights because its more likely you'll get pulled over for them.
As far as euro lights go, I think they look all wrong for our trucks and I'll never buy them. I think the diamond/crystal lights look euro too.
For the headlights, I think the only thing that looks good is factory headlights and side markers with matching clear turn signals, instead of the factory amber ones.

I'll most likely do as you said. Do you know the best way to restore tails? I want them to REALLY shine
Stock tails with some VHT Niteshades sprayed on them. A friend of mine just did this on his car, it looks awesome, my mustang and f150 are getting it soon

I might do that if it looks good. Do you have any pics?
The shaded or tinted tails is illegal and your tail lights won't be as bright. If you get rear ended and they notice it may be considered your fault. Besides that its almost as bad as the euro crap.
I got the new OE replacement tail lights for 20 bucks each at A'zone.

It probably isnt necessary. Just spend several dollars on the liquid "3M Rubbing Compound"!!! Part number 03900. 8 OZ six inch high gray bottle. I got mine at Walmart. (Also very good for removing light scratches from clear coat finish. And outstanding for blending touch up paint to surrounding original paint.)
I also thought that I would have to replace the tail lights. But the 3M works like magic and it isnt necessary to abrade the plastic lens. Just have to remove the old Ford applied UV coating that is presently on top of the lens. This UV coating caused my polishing rag to turn black when polishing the red lens. This old dull flaking UV finish is what is causing the lens to look dull and old. This 3M Rubbing Compound removes this UV coat and polishes the lens underneath. The plastic underneath is probably just fine.
After removing this dull UV coat-polish the lens with a fine auto wax to protect the lens surface. It will look wet and brand new.
Why would anyone want to unnecessarily abrade their tail light lens??
I'm going to buy the clear park's and restore my tails or buy new stock ones. Most likely I'll polish em up. What would you all think about having some of these behind my billet grille? Another user has them on his at this post. Do you all like that? My buddy and I like it. If I were to do so, how would I mount them?
The idea of lights behind the grille is fine. It would probably look good. I would use rectangle ones instead of round though. I wouldn't run more than 55 watt driving lights. The higher wattage ones are not legal for street use. You could always have 2 pairs and use the bighter ones with the high beams
What does abrade mean, do you mean use abrasive on it. I just was saying that I know first hand that the Crystal View stuff works well. Another product that works well is this on. I have use this many times. It is my favorite for lights that need some help, but I don't know how well it works on lights that are in really bad shape.
