clutch replace question

Replacing a 81 T-18, 300 six, clutch. Chilton sez "apply a light coat of grease on the sides of the driving lugs" what is a driving lug? can i skip this procedure?

input shaft of the tranny darrell. i use antiseize on the splines and the pilot shaft.
but only on the end of it. when it engages the friction disc it pushes the grease/antiseize back on the splines.

post some pics and i'll help you out. i put a center force clutch in my ranger here a while back. yes its ceramic like the big rigs.

i thot that might be a possibility......well, i'm good to go then. i would have put the transmission in this eve, but i ran out of pop. gonna grab a beer, and maybe feel like it later. If not, then tomorrow. gettin' close, Jack! I can SMELL it! lol

got the transmission on a tranny jack. it doesn't fit good, or i would have got her in this eve. didn't feel like fightin' with it

still on hold....actually, i sorta took tonite off. will be all over it tomorrow....lol
