Looking to upgrade my exhaust. I currently have a outdated 3 1/2 " downpipe hooked to the stock exhaust with a deleted muffler, but now with smog coming I have to add a muffler. So, I think I'm going with the MBRP seems like the best bang for the buck, but do I spend the money for a SS or go with the Aluminized? I live in CA and go to the snow about twice a year. I'm wondering about longevity? If I go with the Aluminized will painting make it hold up?
If you do want to totally switch the alumninized should work fine. I live in MN and it still holds up well here. I did paint mine though. High temp black.
I went SS, and the only regret is that I didn't spend the $$$ and to T304 the whole way. The T409 is holding up fine, but looks like the stocker did when I cut it off over three years ago.
I have the Aluminized 4" system here in Colorado and sees plenty of snow. Not issues. It's a little grimy but no problems. The muffler is nice too, has a rumble to it.
Another MBRP t-409 with muffler user, same type of metal like stock and like Joe said, mine looks a tad grungy also. But, the T-409 and T-309 comes with a lifetime warranty, the aluminum is only ten years but I'm sure it would hold up longer than that.
