header installation
I`m considering installing a set of headers in my 1979 f150 4x4. Just wondering if there is a difference between a front end with single front shocks on each side as opposed to two per side? Does it make a difference? Should i be looking for a set compatible with a dual shock front end setup? Thank you for your time.

i got a set of hooker super competition headers for my 78 150 4X4 460 conversion. man they were a pain in the butt to install. still don't fit quiet right. thses ones go inside the frame rails, so you don't need to worry about you shocks. the fenderwell exit header you might have some more diffucluty installing them but they shouldn't get into the way.

I have headers on my truck, but they were on there when I got it. I hope the starter doesn't go out anytime soon, because those headers hug it like a long lost love. I also have the quad shock front end, the headers dont bother them at all.

Headers are a pain in the ___
I put a set on my 78 (hot rod) hooker comp.and yes it was a pain.....unbolt the pas.side motor mount,jack the motor up untill you think something might break......then you can just almost get it in place..........driver side fell in to place ......from the bottom.. after you take the front cross member out.......
Now about the starter..........that a bigger pain...... any time I have to pull it ...I have to drop the pas. side header and let it hang..........then just barly get the starter out........
not to mention having to retighten the header bolts every so often..........oh well thats just part of the game.......
