Dad & I were hauling a load of calves to the sale today, when he blew a maypop on the truck & the spare was flat (03 F-250 SD 4x4). No big deal in an older Ford because the trailer is an 8 lug too. We was barely (after much swearing, grunting, & hammering) able to get the spare of the trailer on Dad's pickup so we could get out of the middle of nowhere (SE New Mexico). Now I imagine that rim will be a @#$% to take off.
My question is, does any company make an adapter to make the bolt patterns of trailers metric or should we buy ( please say no, please say there is) c**y next time to match up & have the same bolt pattern as the trailer? Hope everybody had a great weekend.
I am unaware of any "kits"to make the conversion. Changing complete hubs/brake drums etc. is the only know way.
So probably nothing for the truck either? Looks pretty neat with that trailer wheel on it
By the way, you will probably have to change the wheel studs on the truck when you do finally get the trailer wheel off.
D'OH!
How come the truck doesn't have it's own spare?
it does, but for some odd reason it was flat & we were 75 miles from Roswell, so we either had to make due or walk (Never walk where you can drive or ride, never stand where you can sit< & never sit down where you can lay down)
