Talking Fan Clutch Wrenches

For what it's worth, Harbor Freight has a sale on a set of four (4) fan clutch wrenches for $29.99 in a case Item #90341-1CYH.

I have NOT personally checked these out for the proper sizes.
My '97 PSD needed 47mm/17/8" & 58mm/21/4".

I bought a four pc set of Ampro wrenches #T75512 for a hell of a lot more than these particularly when you add shipping. Just be sure that the above sizes are included.

Rog, don't think these will work on our rigs. Sounds like the kit I purchased from local auto parts store and had to return them. Then had to rent a kit when I did my water pump a few years ago. That was before you got here or I would of been knocking on your door.

Here is the link to Harbor Freight on that item ... - Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

Talking

Jim, I know that prior to purchasing my wrenches I bought two (2) different sets from Napa and both of the sets indicated that they would work on our PSD's but they were wrong. Like I said...I have NOT inspected the Harbor Freight wrenches so I don't know the sizes that are in their kit.

I have double checked their advertising and it reads: 5 pc Fan Clutch Wrench Set #90341-1CYH $29.99

Do to the configuration of the wrenches you actually get seven (7) wrenches as two (2) of the heads are doubles, one is a single and the remaining two (2) are long handled single wrenches. Three (3) of the heads need a 1/2" breaker bar to provide a handle.

If anyone is wondering what the hell I'm talking about go to E Bay and there are many pix of just the wrench heads. (Check out the prices as well)

For the price they are worth checking out.

And Jim, you are welcome to borrow mine anytime as well as any other tool that I may have. (And I have a crap load of tools)

I just use the long pry bar and quick hammer blows (about 3 hits) but this thread has some good info.
