I haven't changed my oil since October 17 and I still have almost 2,000 miles to go on the Mobil1! I like changing oil and the 5,000 mile interval is killing me! I think I need help.
I feel more comfortable changing my oil frequently with a
good dino oil (Castrol)......I believe that oil is going to
get dirty from the combustion process at the same rate,
whether it is dino, or synthetic, so my personal preference
is dino (Castrol)......

If you're really having a problem with oil-changing withdrawal, you could probably get a part-time job at one of those quick-lube places.
Even running M1, I still end up changing my oil every 6 weeks or so - which is getting pretty old, but isn't bad enough yet that I'll take the truck to an oil-change place. Perhaps I should run Amsoil, because I hear that lasts pretty much forever...or at least until the engine blows up, whichever comes first.
That's all OK but there is another approach. All you need is more engines that use synthetic. Heck I must have a dozen or more engines with a crankcase around the house or in the garage.
Just change the oil regularly in your's and your wife's vehicles, and kids, tractors, lawnmowers, mulchers, etc. Heck with my schedule, I get to change oil at least once a month. In spring I will go wild.
It's a terrible sickness, only more 5W30 will cure the symptoms, temporarily.
