im looking at getting a march pulley kit and have to use a reverse rotation water pump. other than the water neck on the driver side the bolt pattern is all the same for the timing covers or not?

It's been a while since I had the timing cover off of my truck, but I thought that the coolant ports were blended slightly in the direction of the water flow.

i think the biggest change was the timing pointer (some like mine are part of the cover and some others bolted on) but i dont know alot of small stuff on the later 302 (after around 1985)

I checked yesterday on the 351 I have in the garage, and the water passages are specific to pump rotation direction. I don't think you could get a standard rotation pump to seal on the reverse rotation timing cover and vice versa.
